Amrita University, one of the top 200 universities in BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) countries developed the Live-in Labs Program where many EPFL students participate, and has established the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA).

The Live-in-Labs have varied focus areas such as energy, water, healthcare, education, waste management, ICT, and skill building. Undergraduates and graduates students from EPFL, who would like to get an experiential learning opportunity, can go and spend two weeks to a semester in one of the live-in-labs in India. Students become part of the interdisciplinary team of students and faculty and each team is guided by a group of two to three faculty members. This gives an important opportunity since emerging countries have the largest opportunity for new ideas and innovative solutions.

AmritaWNA is a leading edge research center focused on the emerging fields of wireless networks, wireless sensor networks (WSN), wireless technologies including 3G, 4G and LTE. AmritaWNA develops scientific and technological applications for practical humanitarian benefit. The Center is recognized worldwide today for its deployment of the first-ever wireless sensor network system for predicting landslides.

Prof. Ramesh, Prof. Achuthan and Prof. Diwakar will present the Program and Center and discuss with the audience possible venues to participate and collaborate in both initiatives.

The admittance is free but for organizational reasons, we thank you for completing the online registration form before Tuesday October 13th, 2015.
