Prof. Stefan Knapp is one of the worlds top structural biologists and is a Professor at the University of Frankfurt to which he recently moved from the Oxford University, where he also headed a group at the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC). His research interests are structural mechanisms that regulate epigenetic and signaling pathways and the rational development of selective targeted inhibitors for the treatment of cancer and other diseasres. A particular focus of his research team is on the development of protein interactions inhibitors (PPIs) that target epigenetic reader domains such as bromodomains.
