IEEE Student branch is organizing a poster contest open to Bachelor and Master Students who would like to present their semester or master project. The contest will be held at EPFL in October 2014 (information on te exact date will be provided in September) and a jury of experts will select the best three posters. The winners will participate for free to the IEEE/CAS-EMB Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference 2014. BioCAS 2014 will be held on October 22-24, 2014, at the new EPFL Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The theme of the 2014 edition is a “Breakthrough for Distributed Diagnostics and Therapy”, highlighting the enormous potential that Circuits and Systems have in developing distributed diagnostics and therapy.

The semester/Maser project can covers a range of topics including but not limited to:
• Biosensor devices and interface
• Implantable electronics
• Telecare systems
• Wireless and energy harvesting / scavenging technology for medicine, biology and the life sciences
• Body area network / body sensor network
• Lab-on-chip & BioMEMS
• Bio-inspired systems
• Electronics for brain science and brain machine interfaces
• Innovative circuits for medical applications
• Biofeedback and electrical stimulation
• Biosignal processing
• Biomedical imaging technologies and image processing
• Medical information systems
• Bioinformatics


The best poster will be selected according to the quality and originality of the work, but also to the effectiveness and clarity of the poster (e.g. how the data are presented). One of the three best posters will be selected among exchange students coming from South America, South Africa, or Japan. The posters should summarize semester or Master project that have been carried out in the academic year 2013/2014.
