It seeks to develop innovative theoretical and methodological approaches that strengthen understanding of today’s evolving security order and contribute to <strong>evidence‑based solutions</strong>. At the same time, the program trains future security experts through a combination of research and a practice‑oriented module, enabling them to work across science, policy, and practice. It also promotes <strong>European and international collaboration</strong> through institutional stays and coordinated cohort activities.<br>\r\nProjects must address the nexus of security and technology and align with the fellowship’s objectives of producing multi‑perspective, innovative research on global security transformations.<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Funding</strong>: up to EUR 450,000<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Duration</strong>: max. 3 years (24 months for research and 12 months for outreach activities)<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Eligibility:</strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Postdoctoral researchers from any discipline, as long as they are within 5 years of completing their PhD, are eligible to apply.</li>\r\n\t<li>Applicants must be affiliated with a scientific institution that commits to employing them and managing the grant if awarded.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>How to Apply</strong>: Applicants must submit their application through the <a href=\"https://portal.volkswagenstiftung.de/authentication/login?redirect=%2Foverview\">online platform</a>.
