Proposed projects may range from small proof-of-concept trials through large-scale, definitive trials.</li>\r\n\t<li>The <strong>Discovery Award</strong> supports innovative, untested, non-incremental, high risk/potentially high-reward research that will provide new insights, paradigms, technologies, or applications with impact on one of the Topic Areas and one of the Strategic Goals.</li>\r\n\t<li>The <strong>Impact Award </strong>supports applied research, defined as use-inspired and practice-oriented science that brings together outcomes from basic research and insights from the real-world environment to foster clinical applicability. Applications should demonstrate the potential to make a near-term, major impact on one of the Topic Areas and one of the Strategic Goals.</li>\r\n\t<li>The <strong>Lifestyle and Applied Health Research Award</strong> supports clinical research and/or clinical trials using a combination of scientific disciplines, including occupational science, psychology, psychometrics, biostatistics and epidemiology, surveillance, implementation science, and population health.  Applications must address and provide a solution to one of the Topic Areas and one of the Strategic Goals.</li>\r\n\t<li>The <strong>Platform Clinical Translation Award</strong> supports the translational development and/or early phase clinical trials for broadly applicable clinical technologies that will address urgent and complex needs related to two Topic Areas. Applications must address one of the Strategic Goals.</li>\r\n\t<li>The <strong>Research Advancement Award</strong> supports fundamental research studies that will make an important contribution towards research, patient care, and/or quality of life for a disease or condition related to one of the Topic Areas and one of the Strategic Goals.</li>\r\n\t<li>The <strong>Technology/Therapeutic Development Award</strong> supports the translation of promising preclinical findings into products for clinical applications, including prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, or quality of life, for a disease or condition related to one of the Topic Areas and one of the Strategic Goals. Applications must describe product-oriented research.
