\r\nMany powerful research tools begin as software developed within a single lab, often optimized for a specific project or computing environment. This can sometimes make these tools frustrating to install and use. Turning these tools into reliable, maintainable resources for the broader community requires testing infrastructure, clear documentation, and long-term support. The Rosetta Commons provides resources, staff, and training to help make this process straightforward and rewarding for developers and contributors, while helping reduce the frustration users often experience when installing and using new tools developed in the community.

\r\nBio:
\r\nIn this seminar, Hope Woods (Technical Product Lead) and Rachel Clune (Documentation Writer) will highlight several Rosetta Commons resources and discuss the benefits of hosting software within the Rosetta Commons infrastructure. They will also describe their work with developers of tools such as Foundry, HBDesigner, AtomWorks, and FrustraMPNN to help ensure these projects can be maintained and supported by the community over time. Finally, they will outline pathways for researchers interested in bringing their own tools into the Rosetta Commons ecosystem.

\r\nHow to Apply: Applications are reviewed in a two-step process: Letters of Intent (LOI) are the first step, and are submitted through the ADDF Funding Portal. ADDF’s science team will evaluate LOIs to determine whether the proposed project is consistent with the ADDF's mission and funding priorities. LOI decisions will be sent within three weeks of submission. Step 2 is an invited full proposal, which should include a detailed project narrative, budget and justification, and biographical information.  When formulating the budget, note that the following costs are not covered: Indirect costs/Overhead, Publication costs, Equipment, and Travel. Target ALS funds investigators who collaborate across scientific disciplines and research constituencies to drive medical breakthroughs for the treatment of ALS.

\r\nAs new therapeutics have begun moving the needle for ALS patients, tracking disease progression and monitoring the effects of drug treatment have become even more important. Biomarkers are needed to stratify patient populations, understand response to therapeutics, and quantify disease progression. The foundation is soliciting proposals from multidisciplinary groups focused on the discovery and development of novel fluid or tissue-based biomarkers of disease progression and stratification using novel, innovative, and complementary approaches including applications of AI and machine learning (ML).
\r\n
\r\nAlthough all groups studying disease progression biomarkers are eligible to apply, Target ALS is particularly interested in supporting projects that propose the study of:\r\n\r\nConfidentiality of the investigator’s data, research, and intellectual property will be strictly honored.  Target ALS does not seek ownership of any intellectual property or financial gains that result from its funding.
\r\n
\r\nFunding:       $130,000 per lab per year (not to exceed a total of $500K / year)
\r\n
\r\nDuration:      24 months 
\r\n
\r\nEligibility: Only collaborative projects will be considered; collaborative projects for this call comprise groups of 3-5 laboratories working around a common research theme or target. Each consortium should have at least one investigator from the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
\r\n
\r\nHow to Apply: The two-step application process begins with a Letter of Intent. The letter of intent can be filled in directly on the application portal, with four questions to be answered (see below for the list of questions). Selected applicants will be notified in June 2026 and invited to submit a full proposal. At the full proposal stage, a detailed budget is required. Budgets can include researcher salaries and fringe benefits, materials and consumables, equipment, and overhead of 15%.
