Building Culture in the Existing / EPFL Architecture, Stiftung Baukultur Schweiz

Bauen im Bestand is what every intervention in the built environment does, wittingly or unwittingly. The question is therefore not whether one builds in context but rather how. In this sense,each intervention is part of a larger project that unfolds over time and can help structure the future of the community, city, or territory. Building with the existing can be subtle improvements or radical projects—tabula rasa does not exist and stands in stark contrast to meaningful change.

The second annual "colloquium" of the Stiftung Baukultur Schweiz: BUILDING CULTURE IN THE EXISTING, will take place on 23 and 24 November 2022 in the EPFL Forum Rolex and Plateforme 10, Lausanne.  


Registration and programme will be online from the end of August 2022.

Free tickets will be given to support the young professionals and especially to encourage participation from all regions of the country.
