Aim:
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a global leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, is pleased to announce the release of the Fall 2026 clinical research funding mechanisms.
Funding: CRA – USD $150’000/year (single-center),
USD $350’000/year (multi-center)
CPFA – USD $80’000/year (single-center),
USD $150’000/year (multi-center)
Duration: CRA – up to 3 years
CPFA – up to 2 years

How to Apply: First-time applicants need to pre-register well before the date of submission and create a username, password and profile. Applications must be submitted online at awards.cff.org. Applications components vary by program.

- Research Grant (CRA): Supporting investigator‑initiated clinical research projects that can make a significant contribution to the CF Foundation’s mission by advancing the diagnosis, treatment, management, or understanding of cystic fibrosis.
- Pilot and Feasibility Award (CPFA): Supporting early‑stage clinical research projects involving human subjects or samples that develop and test new hypotheses or new methods relevant to cystic fibrosis, and to enable investigators to generate sufficient preliminary data to design larger‑scale or multi‑center clinical studies.
Funding: CRA – USD $150’000/year (single-center),

CPFA – USD $80’000/year (single-center),

Eligibility:
- Applicants must be independent investigators
- Fellows only eligible if they will hold faculty appointments by award start date
- Must be based at non‑profit or academic institutions
- Industry‑sponsored research is not eligible
- Sufficient access to CF patients (for CRA)
- Project must involve human subjects or human samples (for CPFA)
