DESCRIPTION:The EPFL Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (QSE) fost
 ers outstanding scientific research in the QSE domain. Producing groundbre
 aking scientific discoveries in quantum science\, and developing cutting-e
 dge quantum technologies requires the combined efforts of scientists from 
 computer science\, engineering\, and basic sciences.\n\nThe QSE Center enc
 ourages and supports these collaborations\, with the goal of creating cros
 s-disciplinary research initiatives that will move boundaries in the QSE d
 omain.\n\nTo pursue this goal\, the QSE Center will fund QSE Collaborative
  Research Fellowships.\n\nWhat:\n\nThe aim of the QSE Collaborative Resear
 ch Fellowships is to support outstanding young researchers to be hired as 
 incoming postdoctoral fellows.\nThe fellows will work on research projects
  that explicitly need a cross-expertise approach and that are high risk/hi
 gh gain in nature.\nApplications can be received from the three EPFL Schoo
 ls IC\, STI\, and SB.\nThe overall requested funding must not exceed CHF 2
 00’000 for the total duration of two years.\nApplicants must jointly pro
 vide an additional matching fund\, amounting to 25% of the requested amoun
 t\, to fund the project.\n\nEligibility requirements:\n\n	Applications mus
 t involve at least two principal investigators (PIs) from two EPFL researc
 h groups affiliated with two of the three EPFL Schools IC\, STI\, and SB. 
 One of the PIs is designated as “responsible applicant”\, the other on
 e(s) as “co-applicant(s)”. The postdoctoral researcher will be affilia
 ted to the laboratory of the responsible applicant.\n	Applicants must be e
 mployed as Professors or senior scientists (i.e. maîtres d’enseignement
  et de recherche – MERs). Eccellenza or PRIMA grantees or ERC Starting G
 rant holders who are employed by EPFL for the full duration of the project
  (2 years) can also apply.\n	Applicants who are not financially independen
 t must include a letter of commitment from the head of unit.\n	Applicants 
 may only submit one application as either responsible applicants or co-app
 licants\, and they may only apply once per call for the QSE Collaborative
