DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) has commissioned the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) a
 s Leading House for bilateral research collaboration with partner institut
 ions in South Asia and Iran\, namely Afghanistan\, Bangladesh\, Bhutan\, I
 ndia\, Iran\, Maldives\, Nepal\, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.\n\nIn 2021\, the 
 Leading House for South Asia and Iran opened a call for proposals for Rese
 arch Partnership Grants.\n\nThe goal of the Research Partnership Grants is
  to:\n\n	foster new partnerships\n	allow existing partnerships to grow and
  develop\, with the objective of preparing a grant application for a full 
 joint research project or develop joint teaching.\n	support emerging resea
 rch talent\, by integrating PhD students in international collaborations.\
 n\n\nWho can apply: \n\n\n	The PI must be a permanent Swiss resident\, emp
 loyed at a Swiss federal and cantonal universities\, universities of appli
 ed sciences\, universities of teacher education\, as well as public resear
 ch institutions.\n	The Swiss applicant’s collaborator in the concerned p
 artner country needs to be a scientist with permanent employment or employ
 ment lasting until the end of the project with the institutional partner. 
 The principal investigator/researcher in South Asia or Iran must be affili
 ated to an accredited university or a public research institute and must h
 old a faculty or scientist position in addition to several years of resear
 ch or practical experience.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: max. CHF 35’000 for
  up to 12 months\n\nEligible costs: equipment\, work-related institutional
  costs\, Travel\, Subcontracting\, Networking and communication (incl. cos
 ts for o.a. publications).\n\nMatching funds and in-kind contributions: Bo
 th the applicant and the partner institute abroad are required to make in-
 kind (e.g. work hours\, usage of office or laboratory equipment\, field vi
 sits\, etc.) contributions to the proposed research project. The Swiss app
 licant is required to make a financial contribution in addition to the one
  in-kind. It is recommended that the partner institute abroad make a finan
 cial contribution as well.\n\nCall timeline:\n\n\n	Deadline: 15 January 20
 22\n	Decision: end of April 2022\n	Earliest project start: must be in 2022
