DESCRIPTION:The Swiss National Science Foundation has announced the fifth 
 annual edition of the “SNSF Scientific Image Competition” for images a
 nd short videos from the world of research. The winning projects and a sel
 ection of other entries will be exhibited at the Biel/Bienne Festival of P
 hotography from 6 to 29 May 2022.\n\nThe competition gives the public an u
 nconventional view of research. It invites all researchers to document the
  often unusual environment they work in\, as well as any special tools and
  instruments\, and to capture unexpected occurrences on film or make a pho
 to of the research team at work.\n\nPrize: a CHF 1’000 prize will be awa
 rded to the winners in each of the following categories:\n\n	Object of stu
 dy\n	Research locations and instruments \n	Women and men of science\n	Shor
 t videos\n\nIn addition\, the jury will award distinctions worth CHF 250 e
 ach.\n\nWho can apply:\n\n\n	scientists working at higher education instit
 utions or research institutions in Switzerland.\n\n\nRestrictions: \n\n\n	
 Each participant may submit from 1 to 5 entries.\n	Works by professional p
 hotographers are not accepted.\n	Employees of the communication department
 s of research institutions\;\n	The works must have been produced less than
  12 months before the deadline for submitting entries.\n\n\nDeadline: 31 J
