CATEGORIES:Conferences - Seminars
DESCRIPTION:Gilles Laurent\, Max Planck Institute for Brain Research\, Fra
nkfurt am Main\, Germany\nIMPORTANT NOTICE // In-person attendance of this
seminar is subjected to some constraints:\n\n	Maximum number of participa
nts is limited to 80\n	Valid COVID certificate and ID (e.g. Camipro card)
\, required to enter the conference room\, will be checked at the entrance
\n	Face masks are mandatory for everyone in the seminar room (excepted the
speaker while presenting)\n\nOur group focuses on brain computation\, phy
siology and evolution\, with a particular focus on network dynamics\, slee
p (evolution and mechanistic underpinnings)\, cortical computation (throug
h the study of ancestral cortices)\, and sensorimotor processing. This tal
k will describe our recent results on the remarkable camouflage behavior o
f cuttlefish (action) and on brain activity in REM and NonREM in lizards (
sleep). Both topics will focus on aspects of circuit dynamics.
