DESCRIPTION:The Holcim Stiftung offers grants to outstanding young scienti
 sts to carry out excellent research (fundamental\, applied\, PoC and/or ma
 rket-oriented) and scientific teaching in any discipline and field in Swit
 zerland in view of acquiring a lecturer grade qualification or similar.\n\
 nPriority is given to projects:\n\n	with a positive social impact\,\n	expl
 oring innovative methods\, new perspectives or novel lines of questioning 
 crucial to the advancement of science\,\n\nWho can apply (all following co
 nditions must be filled). The applicant must:\n\n\n	have graduated from a 
 university or equivalent institution of higher education (with a dissertat
 ion)\n	furnish proof of suitable qualifications (e.g. publications)\n	not 
 be older than 35\n	wish to pursue scientific teaching and research work wi
 th a view to acquiring a lecturer grade qualification or similar.\n\nFundi
 ng & Duration:\n\n\n	Eligible costs: the applicant’s salary and social c
 harges based on SNSF salary scale (usually between CHF 90’000 and 120’
 000 p.a.).\n\n\n\n	The funding does NOT cover:\n\n\n\n	the financing of re
 gular studies\, an additional course of study\, a dissertation or a postdo
 c posting\n	projects solely for the pursuit of training in a new area (as 
 opposed to further training in a field already established as a specialism
  of the candidate)\n	attendance at congresses\, symposia\, etc.\n	pure pub
 lication projects (printing costs)\n	cost of material\n	Salaries for proje
 ct members\n\n\n\n	Duration: usually between 24-36 months..\n\nYou can sub
 mit parallel requests for funding for your salary\, but you must inform th
 e Foundation at the proposal stage (online application form) and if you re
 ceive other positive decisions.\n\nDeadlines: 30 April and 31 October (eve
 ry year)\nApplication:\n\n	Note: the Foundation does NOT accept informal r
 equests.\n	Apply via the online application form\, joining your CV\, publi
 cations\, diploma\, 2 letters of recommendations\, among others.\n\nDecisi
 on: within 1 month by the Board of Trustees\nNote: The Foundation’s annu
 al budget is CHF 500’000 (only 4-5 stipends are awarded per year).\n\nFo
