DESCRIPTION:The Foundation offers funding for projects\, congresses and ev
 ents that aim to increase the public understanding of science and scientif
 ic thinking in Switzerland.\n\n\nRestriction : The Foundation does not gra
 nt additional costs for projects already funded by SNSF\, ERC or similar a
 gencies\, and does not cover institutional overheads\; infrastructure must
  be provided by the applicant.\n\n \n\n	PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENCE\n
 \n\n\n	For what:  Activities and projects in Switzerland that strengthen 
 the public understanding of scientific thinking. (Overheads are not covere
 d.)\n	How much: Grants are typically around CHF 10\,000 or CHF 50\,000\, 
 and rarely exceed CHF 100\,000.\n\n \n\n\n	CONGRESSES\n\n\n\n	For what: C
 ongresses and events that increase the public understanding of science and
  scientific thinking in Switzerland\n	How much: Typically around CHF 10\,0
 00 or CHF 50\,000\; rarely above CHF 100\,000.\n\n\nDEADLINES: 1 May and 1
  October (every year) at 1 p.m. CET.\nDecisions: end of June and beginning
  of November.\n\nApplication: Submit your application in English or German

 applicants are available at this link.\n\nSelection process:\n\n\n	ELIGIBI
 LITY CHECK: the executive committee of the Foundation Council checks if th
 e application is in line with the goals of the Foundation and immediately 
 informs the applicant if this is not the case.\n	EVALUATION: proposals pas
 sing the eligibility check are submitted to the Foundation Council.\n	 \n
