DESCRIPTION:The Energy-Economy-Society (EES) research programme of the Swi
 ss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) promotes application-oriented research 
 in the field of energy policy. To this end the EES focuses on economic\, s
 ocial\, psychological and political issues throughout the energy sector su
 pply chain.\n\nFor its 2021-2022\, researchers are invited to submit resea
 rch proposals in one of the following fields:\n \n\n	Sustainable finance 
 for the energy transition\n	Consumer behaviour and energy demand\n	Energy 
 transition and equity\n	Digitalisation and the energy transition\n\n\nProj
 ects can concentrate on one aspect of the fields proposed and do not have 
 to treat all sub-points and research questions listed. Only projects with 
 a focus on social science and humanities shall be considered for funding. 
 The projects should address questions relevant for Switzerland.\n\nWho can
  apply\nThe call is addressed to universities (including ETH-domain)\, uni
 versities of applied science\, further research organizations and the priv
 ate sector in Switzerland. The participation of young scientists\, and par
 ticularly PhD students\, in the research teams is encouraged.\n\nProposals
  from working groups including specialists from different fields are welco
 me (the contact person should be specified). Universities\, universities o
 f applied sciences\, further research organisations and the private sector
  based outside Switzerland are welcome to apply. They however have to do s
 o in a consortium with at least one Swiss partner and work on research que
 stions relevant for Switzerland.\n\nFunding: \nSupported projects typicall
 y receive public funding in the order of 100–300 kCHF and have a duratio
 n between 24 and 36 months.\n\nOwn and third-party contributions (in-kind 
 and/or cash) have to be indicated at the pre-proposal submission and forma
 lly confirmed at the full proposal submission.\n\nEligible costs\nInternal
  costs for staff (see Appendix 1 and for PhD Student\, please use the EPFL
  internal hourly rates)\, research costs and costs for equipment\, service
 s and other expenses. Overheads are not eligible.\n\nSubmission and deadli
 ne\nThe call follows a two-stage submission and evaluation procedure. If t
 he pre-proposal is selected after evaluation\, the applicant is invited to
  submit a full proposal.\n\nPre-proposal submission deadline: 21 February
