CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Developed under the ERA-Net JPIAMR-ACTION\, the 14th JPIAMR tr
ansnational call for research projects will support research into therapeu
tic/agricultural interventions based on the improvement of the efficacy\,
specificity\, delivery\, combinations and/or repurposing of drugs and plan
t protection agents to treat bacterial or fungal infections in One Health
setting.\n\n\nThe Disrupting drug Resistance Using Innovative Design (DRUI
 D) Call aims to improve the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections (
including co-infection) and/or the prevention of the emergence/spread of r
esistance in humans\, animals or plants through the improvement of the eff
 icacy\, specificity\, delivery\, combinations and/or repurposing of drugs
and plant protection agents.\n\nProposals should focus on licenced antimic
robial agents (antibiotics/antifungals) or agents under pre-clinical and/o
r early clinical development\, and should address at least one of the foll
owing topics:\n\n	Improvement of drug/plant protection agent efficacy and/
or specificity through chemical modifications (including hit to lead optim
isation)\n	Drug/plant protection agent repurposing\;\n	Optimisation of dru
g/plant protection agent combinations\, alone or with adjunct therapies (i
ncluding therapeutic vaccines)\;\n	Design and implementation of new strate
gies (including optimisation of drug doses) for improved application\, eff
icacy and delivery of single or combinations of antimicrobials\;\n	Design
and implementation of innovative tools\, including novel chemistry and/or
new materials for improved application\, efficacy and delivery of antimicr
obials.\n\n\nWho can apply: \n\n\n	International consortia composed from m
inimum 3 to maximum 6 partners from at least 3 different participating cou
ntries. The maximum number of partners can be increased to seven if at lea
st a partner from an under-represented country (including LMICs) or a comp
any is included in the consortium. Partners from other countries may be pa
rt of a consortium if they can secure their own funding.\n\n\n\n	Swiss-bas
ed applicants: must be eligible for SNSF Project Funding (see EPFL Instruc
tions for SNSF Project Funding) and cannot participate in more than one pr
oposal per call. Please contact research@epfl.ch to verify your eligibilit
y for the call. Proposals with overlapping funding periods with ongoing SN
SF grants are only approved if the research projects pursue different goal
s in the context of this programme. The SNSF exclusively funds research co
 nducted for non-commercial purposes.\n\n\nDuration: max. 36 months.\n\nFun
ding: depends on the country-specific regulations. The SNSF has allocated
 CHF 600’000.- for 2-3 projects.\n\nTimeline of the call:\n\n\n	Deadline
 for pre-proposals: 8 March 2022 at 14:00 CET\n	Swiss applicants must submi
t pre-proposals and full proposals via mySNF at the same deadline as the c
onsortium applications are submitted to the Call Secretariat via the elect
ronic submission system.\n	Invitation to submit a full proposal: end of Ma
y 2022\n	Deadline for full proposals: 5 July 2022\n	Funding decision: Nove
mber 2022\n\n\nFor further information\, please have a look at the call we
bpage where you will find the call text (including specific information fo
r Swiss applicants on page 42)\, partner search tool\, pre-proposal templa
tes and the submission online tool.\n\nAn interactive webinar presentation
of the Call and the partner search tool is organized on 25 January 2022.\
