DESCRIPTION:Every year\, Fondation Leenaards allocates up to CHF 1.5 milli
 on to the Leenaards Prize for Translational Medical Research.\n\nThis rese
 arch prize is awarded to 2-3 innovative projects\, conducted by\, at least
 \, a university hospital (CHUV\, HUG) and an academic partner (e.g. EPFL\,
  UNIL\, UNIGE) of the Lake Geneva region\, investigating a clinical or hea
 lth problem (including pathogenesis\, diagnosis\, prevention or therapy) f
 rom an original and innovative angle\, and linking it to a component of ad
 vanced basic research\, be it experimental research\, bioinformatics or ep
 idemiological analyses.\n\nThe project must:\n\n	include a human research 
 component\n	stand on its own\, but it can be embedded in the context of an
  existing project.\n\n\nWho can apply:\n\n\n	At least one group at a unive
 rsity hospital (CHUV or HUG) AND one group at an academic institution (e.g
 . EPFL\, UNIL\, UNIGE) of the Lake Geneva Region\; the third applicant can
  be based outside of this region. Preference is given to new collaboration
 s.\n	The PI must be a clinical scientist (MD\, MD-PhD\, or PhD\, below the
  age of 45).\n	Applicants should preferably be at a relatively early stage
  in their careers.\n	All applicants must hold a “stable position” for 
 the entire duration of the project.\n	Applicants cannot have received this
  grant during the last 3 years (2019-2021). \n\n\nFunding and duration: C
 HF 500’000 - 750’000 for up to 36 months (not renewable).\n\nDeadlines
 : \n\n\n	Deadline for Letter of Intent\, a budget and a short CV: 7 March 
 2022.\n	Pre-selection: 6 April 2022.\n	Internal deadline for Institutional
  Support Letter: 16 May 2022 (contact research@epfl.ch)\n	Deadline for Ful
 l Proposals: 1 June 2022.\n	Final Decision: end of September 2022. \n	Begi
