DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Asahi Kasei Pharma Open Innovation platform is recr
 uiting candidates for research collaborations related to drug discovery. T
 hese candidates that will work together with AKP researchers\, who are pro
 fessionals in drug discovery research\, to promote drug discovery research
  with practical applications. Importantly\, this program is not a research
  grant. Prior to the start of research\, a joint research plan and researc
 h collaboration agreement will be drafted.  Use of research funds will be
  limited those described in this joint research plan.\n\nPrograms open und
 er this platform include:\n\n	Autoimmune Diseases\n	Critical Care Medicine
 \n	Neurodegenerative Diseases\n	Pain and Neuropathy\n	Bone Diseases\n	Drug
  Discovery Platform Technology\n\n\nFunding:       $200\,000 / year\n
 \nDuration:      1-3 years\n\nEligibility: Researchers who belong to 
 a university or research institute outside Japan (academia\, pharmaceutica
 l company\, bio-tech\, start-up\, etc.) are eligible to apply. Students ar
 e not accepted.\n\nHow to Apply: The application process starts with an ap
 plication form\, followed by two rounds of selection. The second round of 
 selection involves an interview and potentially a confidentiality agreemen
 t\, depending on the nature of the application. Only non-confidential info
 rmation should be submitted in the application. Please get in touch with t
 he Research Office when formulating the budget to be sure the correct over
