DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Polio Research Committee  is calling for research 
 proposals supporting the Polio Endgame Strategy 2019-2023. Research propos
 als supporting the strategic plan may be submitted to the Committee for r
 eview and funding. Preference will be given to proposals developed by GPEI
  partner agencies and their research collaborators. However\, other instit
 utions may also submit proposals if they address our research priorities.\
 n\nThe Committee is looking for well-articulated proposals that propose re
 search projects that will contribute significantly to polio eradication. T
 he PRC funds a variety of studies from many disciplines including basic sc
 ience research\, operational research\, mathematical modeling projects\, a
 nd epidemiological studies/clinical studies.\n\nThe current priority of th
 e Polio Research Committee is to generate new data or information in the f
 ollowing areas.\n\n	Vaccine schedule immunogenicity: Immunogenicity of pol
 iovirus vaccination options after withdrawal of all oral poliovirus vaccin
 es\n	Surveillance: Assessment of length of poliovirus environmental circul
 ation after withdrawal of all oral poliovirus vaccines\, or development an
 d evaluation of new methods for poliovirus surveillance in areas with poor
  access\n	Product development: Development and evaluation of innovative IP
 V formulations or administration techniques (new mucosal adjuvants\, virus
 -like particle [VLPs] vaccine\, IPV patches\, etc.)\n	Epidemiology/virolog
 y: Evaluation of factors favouring emergence of vaccine derived poliovirus
 es\n	Monitoring & evaluation: Development and evaluation of new methods fo
 r assessment of quality (& coverage) of polio  vaccination mass campaigns
 \n	Basic immunology: Assessment of length of priming following IPV adminis
 tration\n	Containment: Research supporting containment objectives and poli
 cies\n\n\nFunding:       Linked to project aims (median amount: $174K
 )\n\nDuration:      24 months\n\nEligibility: This call for proposals 
 is open to research institutions and private companies. Successful applica
 nts will be required to conclude an agreement with WHO setting forth the t
 erms applicable to the funding by WHO of the research activities.\n\nHow t
 o Apply: Submission should include a completed application form and be sen
 t to: polioresearch@who.int . The application form includes five sections:
  administrative information\, project summary (2 pages)\, detailed researc
 h proposal (20 pages max.)\, budget\, and final questions. EPFL applicants
