DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Partnership for Clean Competition is a nonprofit or
ganization working to protect the integrity of sport and public health by
engaging and supporting the world’s top scientists and innovators in hig
h-quality anti-doping research and development. With an emphasis on origin
al work that focuses on improving existing analytical methods for detectin
g particular drugs\, developing new analytical methods to test for substan
ces not currently detectable\, and discovering cost-effective approaches f
or testing widely abused substances across all levels of sport\, the follo
wing areas of investigation reflect the PCC’s current research prioritie
s:\n \n\n	Developing methods of cost-effective testing to detect and dete
r the use of banned and illegal substances.\n	Developing testing protocols
to detect designer substances used for doping purposes.\n	Improving exist
ing analytical methods to detect particular drugs\, ex. GH\, IGF-1\, EPO\,
hCG.\n	Developing analytical methods to detect performance enhancing drug
s not currently detectable.\n	Longitudinal urinary excretion patterns\, me
tabolism and dose-concentration.\n	Critical reviews to support interpretat
ion of laboratory data.\n	Alternative specimens\, (ex. oral fluid\, dried
blood/plasma spots) for testing.\n\n\nFunding:       No funding ceil
ing\; most grants ~$200K\n\nDuration:      No duration specified\; mo
st projects 1-3 year\n\nEligibility: Investigators worldwide contributing
to the detection or deterrence of performance-enhancing drugs are eligible
for PCC Grants.\n\nHow to Apply: The two-step application process begins
with the submission of a pre-application\, which should highlight the aims
\, hypotheses\, and methodology of the research to be carried out. Selecte
d applicants will be invited to submit a full application\, with a more de
tailed research plan and budget. Pre-Applications are due March 1st\, July
1st\, and November 1st of each year. Applicants invited to submit full ap
plications must do so by April 1st\, August 1st\, or December 1st\, depend
ing on the cycle (30 days after the pre-application due date). Most applic
