  an underrated tool\n\n“Working on a technical field is supposed to give
  birth to inventions\, technical advancements and resolutions of practical
  problems. But is it always the case? Are there other tools to exploit and
  protect the intellectual property of something new? This seminar will foc
 us on design\, or “design patents”\, an usually underrated and unknown
  instrument to give value to your work and build possible business perspec
 tives in an easy but strong way.\nAfter a brief introduction on the main i
 ntellectual property right tools available\, the seminar will go through a
 n overview of the main concepts around Design\, its strengths and eligibil
 ity thereto. A comparison of the various IP tools will explored\, focusing
  on the differences between Designs\, Trademarks\, Copyrights and Utility 
 Patents\, in order to fully understand what kind of protection may better 
 fit to any situation. Importantly\, procedural and practical aspects regar
 ding when\, what and how to protect Designs will be addressed\, with a foc
 us on the various jurisdictions practices and requirements\, and tips to o
 ptimize the protection. A real-life case study will end this part\, bringi
 ng to short strategic considerations regarding the value of Designs to clo
 se the seminar.”\n
