CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim: Grants awarded through this RFA are intended to produce f
oundational knowledge about the neurobehavioral differences associated wit
h ASD. Many of these projects are expected to inform or relate to the deve
lopment or refinement of tools needed for translational efforts\, such as
biomarkers and outcome measures. Special emphasis is placed on objective\,
quantitative measures that may be used in conjunction with standardized c
linical measures and genomic information to better triangulate phenotypic
and neurobiological variability within and across individuals with ASD.\n\
nAmount: Two tracks are offered within this RFA solicitation: Explorer and
Expansion.\n\n	The Explorer track is appropriate for early-stage projects
where establishing feasibility and proof-of-concept are the most relevant
outcomes of the grant period. The total budget is $500\,000 or less\, inc
lusive of 20 percent indirect costs\, over a period of up to two (2) years
.\n	The Expansion track is appropriate for more mature projects with evide
nce of feasibility and preliminary validity\, for which goals such as scal
ability\, generalizability and/or ecological validity are now the most rel
evant translational outcomes. The total budget is $900\,000 or less\, incl
usive of 20 percent indirect costs\, over a period of up to three (3) year
s.\n\nDeadline: 25 April 2022\n\nEligibility:\n\n\n	All applicants and key
collaborators must hold a Ph.D.\, M.D. or equivalent degree and have a fa
culty position or the equivalent at a college\, university\, medical schoo
l or other research facility.\n	Principal investigators (PIs) who do not h
ave substantial expertise with ASD participants should include a close col
laborator with such expertise on their grant application (e.g.\, multi-PI
application).\n	Applications may be submitted by domestic and foreign nonp
rofit organizations\; public and private institutions\, such as colleges\,
universities\, hospitals\, laboratories\, and units of state and local go
vernment\; and eligible agencies of the federal government. There are no c
itizenship or country requirements.\n\n\nHow to apply :\n\nApplications mu
st be completed electronically and submitted using forms provided at propo
salCENTRAL. Please log in as an applicant\, go to the grant opportunities
tab\, scroll to “Simons Foundation” and click “Apply Now” for the
SFARI – Human Cognitive and Behavioral Science program.\n\nDetails conce
rning application requirements and submission can be found in our instruct
 ions or on proposalCENTRAL.\n\nFor further information:\n\nFor assistance\
