DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The HFSP fellowship program supports proposals for fron
tier\, potentially transformative research in the life sciences. Applicati
ons for high-risk projects are particularly encouraged. The projects shoul
d be interdisciplinary in nature and should challenge existing paradigms b
y using novel approaches and techniques. Scientifically\, they should addr
ess an important problem or a barrier to progress in the field.\n\nHFSP po
stdoctoral fellowships encourage early career scientists to broaden their
research skills by moving into new areas of study while working in a new c
 ountry.\n\nTwo different fellowships are available:\n \n\n	Long-Term Fell
owships (LTF) are for applicants with a PhD in a biological discipline\, w
ho will broaden their expertise by proposing a project in the life science
s which is significantly different from their previous PhD or postdoctoral
work.\n	Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (CDF) are for applicants with a Ph
D from outside the life sciences (e.g. in physics\, chemistry\, mathematic
s\, engineering or computer sciences).\n\n\nFunding:       Living all
