DESCRIPTION:This program will support target validation\, pre-clinical and
  clinical work to foster and accelerate the development of Parkinson’s t
 herapeutics with potential for fundamentally altering disease course or si
 gnificantly improving management of symptoms.\n\nFunding will support proj
 ects that aim to:\n\n	Advance early-stage targets with preliminary rationa
 le for PD pathophysiology and/or symptomology into preclinical therapeutic
  development by using potent and selective tool compounds to demonstrate t
 herapeutic potential.\n	 \n	Advance through critical preclinical stages t
 he identification\, validation\, or development of novel approaches and/or
  new treatments or interventions with potential for significant impact for
  people with Parkinson’s.\n	 \n	Repurpose or reposition approved or cli
 nically safe therapies from other disease indications.\n	 \n	Progress pro
 mising interventions into initial Phase I trials to assess pharmacokinetic
 /pharmacodynamic and early safety/tolerability.\n\n\nFunding: max. $2M\n\n
 Duration: 24 months (pre-clinical)\n                   36 mo
 nths (clinical)\n\nEligibility: Applications may be submitted by researche
 rs or clinicians in:\n \n\n	U.S. and non-U.S. biotechnology/pharmaceutica
 l companies\, or other publicly or privately held for-profit entities\; an
 d\n	 \n	U.S. and non-U.S. public and private non-profit entities\, such a
 s universities\, colleges\, hospitals\, laboratories\, units of state and 
 local governments and eligible agencies of the federal government.\n	 \n	
 Post-doctoral fellows are not eligible to apply as Principal Investigators
  or Co-Principal Investigators\n\n\nHow to Apply: The two-stage applicatio
 n process begins with a pre-proposal\, which is due by 26 April. Instructi
 ons for submitting pre-proposals can be found here. Selected applicants wi
 ll be notified the week of 06 June\, and may submit a full proposal by 11 
 August. Budgets should be formulated to include 15% OH.\n\nDeadline (pre-p
