DESCRIPTION:This program supports work to develop and validate PET imaging
  techniques utilizing radiotracers of a variety of disease-relevant target
 s that can ultimately be implemented in clinical practice and clinical tri
 als for Parkinson’s Disease. \n \n\n	Projects of interest include ear
 ly screening efforts and early in vitro and in vivo validation of newly de
 veloped tracers. \n	 \n	Targets of interest include\, but are not limit
 ed to\, pathologic proteins\, inflammation (astrocytes\, NLRP3\, microglia
 \, etc.) and other therapeutic targets (neuronal receptors\, GBA\, mitocho
 ndria\, etc.). \n	 \n	Projects should aim to develop novel PET tracers 
 as opposed to collecting data using existing tracers. \n	 \n	For thi
 s round\, MJFF will not consider proposals focused on human studies. \n\
 n\nFunding: max. $500\,000\n\nDuration: 12-24 months\n\nEligibility: Appli
 cations may be submitted by researchers or clinicians in:\n\n\n	U.S. and n
 on-U.S. biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies\, or other publicly or priv
 ately held for-profit entities\; and\n	 \n	U.S. and non-U.S. public and p
 rivate non-profit entities\, such as universities\, colleges\, hospitals\,
  laboratories\, units of state and local governments and eligible agencies
  of the federal government.\n	 \n	Post-doctoral fellows are eligible to a
 pply as co-investigators with the designation of an administrative primary
  investigator who directs the laboratory in which the fellow will conduct 
 research.\n\n\nHow to Apply: The two-stage application process begins with
  a pre-proposal\, which is due by 26 April. Instructions for submitting pr
 e-proposals can be found here. Selected applicants will be notified the we
 ek of 06 June\, and may submit a full proposal by 11 August. Budgets shoul
