DESCRIPTION:Marianna Fenzi\nThe 40 panels in this exhibition assemble frag
 ments of the rural Mexican landscape. Shaped by traditional smallholder ag
 riculture\, these spaces show appropriations and repurposings of old infra
 structure\, such as churches and haciendas\, and are places of celebration
  as well as work. They also show the more discreet transformations of the 
 maize landscape in Mexico\, revealing that even scientific innovations can
  pass through farmers’ fields without taking the place that they were in
 tended to. Whether reappropriated in local practices or simply set aside\,
  sometimes innovations are simply unable to replace the local agroecology\
 , whose farmer-driven transformations continue – silently\, underground\
 , but incessantly.\n
