DESCRIPTION:The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Japan Soc
 iety for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) are launching a third joint call 
 for proposals on the theme of "Designing Future Societies". The call is al
 igned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and 
 World Expo 2025 in Osaka\, and is open to projects from all disciplines.\n
 \nEach proposal for a JRP must have at least one applicant based in Switze
 rland and one applicant based in Japan\; they will be the principal invest
 igators on the Swiss and Japanese side respectively. Further applicants ba
 sed in Switzerland and/or in Japan can also participate.\n\nWho can apply:
 \n\n	At least one main applicant based in Switzerland and one based in Jap
 an. Other applicants based in Switzerland and/or in Japan can also partici
 pate.\n	 \n	Swiss-based applicants: natural persons employed at a Swiss u
 niversity\, a Swiss university of applied sciences or an institution of th
 e ETH Domain. They must be eligible for SNSF Project Funding (ref. EPFL In
 structions for SNSF Project Funding). Swiss applicants can apply for this 
 call even if they hold or have applied for other SNSF grants.\n	 \n	Appli
 cants based in Japan: Please refer to the call document for specific rules
  and regulations.\n	 \n	All main and other applicants may only submit one
  application per call.\n\n\nFunding & Duration:\n\n\n	The project duration
  is 36 months.\n	 \n	 JRP proposals contain two separate budgets: one bu
 dget in CHF for the Swiss part (to be paid by the SNSF according to the SN
 SF’s rules) and one budget in JPY for the Japanese parts (to be paid by 
 JSPS according to their own respective rules).\n	 \n	For the Swiss part\,
  the available budget for this call allows for the funding of 10 projects 
 from all disciplines.\n	 \n	Eligible costs for Swiss-based applicants: pe
 rsonnel costs\, material costs\, access to infrastructure costs\, open res
 earch data\, conferences and workshops\, international cooperation and net
 working. With regard to international travel and subsistence\, all related
  expenses are to be covered by the visiting side according to national rul
 es and restrictions. The hosting side is expected to extend the required l
 ogistic and research facility support.\n	 \n	Overhead costs for Swiss app
 licants are not admissible.\n	 \n	To prepare your budget\, you can use th

 ement costs\n\n\nTimeline of the call:\n\n\n	Deadlines: 30 June 2022 at 17
 :00 CEST\n\n	\n		For the Japanese applicants\, please consult JSPS’ webs
 ite concerning its deadline for submitting the basic information via its o
 nline tool.\n		 \n	\n	\n	Submission: Proposals are to be jointly prepared
  by the applicants in Switzerland and Japan but will solely be evaluated b
 y the SNSF. They must be submitted by the Swiss main applicant to the SNSF
  via mySNF.\n	 \n	Earliest starting date for the JRP: 1 January 2023\n\n\
