 EPFL STI Workshop on Causality. The notion of causality has intrigued gene
 rations of philosophers\, mathematicians and scientists. Already in ancien
 t Greece\, Aristotle’s four causes principle defines four fundamental dr
 ivers of Why. Recently\, the advent of causal inference has allowed us t
 o interrogate causality within a rigorous mathematical framework. These ad
 vances are reshaping various fields in data science\, machine learning and
  statistics. In this workshop\, world-leading experts will share their vie
 ws and discuss different perspectives of the fascinating yet elusive noti
 on of causality.
