DESCRIPTION:The mission of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (
 DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is to identify and create the next ge
 neration of scientific discovery by pursuing high-risk\, high-payoff resea
 rch initiatives across a broad spectrum of science and engineering discipl
 ines and transforming these initiatives into disruptive technologies for U
 .S. national security. In support of this mission\, the DSO Office-wide BA
 A invites proposers to submit innovative basic or applied research concept
 s or studies and analysis proposals that address one or more of the follow
 ing technical thrust areas:\n(1) Frontiers in Math\, Computation and Desig
 n\,\n(2) Limits of Sensing and Sensors\,\n(3) Complex Social Systems\, and
 \n(4) Anticipating Surprise.\n\nEach of these areas is described in the FO
 A (“related documents”/ “HR001121S0032.pdf”) and includes a list o
 f example research topics that highlight several (but not all) potential a
 reas of interest. Proposals must investigate innovative approaches that en
 able revolutionary advances.\n\nDEADLINE: Proposals may be submitted on a 
 rolling basis until June 10\, 2022\, 4:00 p.m. Proposers are strongly enco
 uraged to submit a summary and/or abstract in advance of a proposal to min
 imize effort and reduce the potential expense.\n\nELIGIBILITY: EPFL resear
 chers are eligible to participate.\n\nHOW TO APPLY: All proposers are requ
 ired to use the templates provided as an attachment to the solicitation on
  http://www.grants.gov. DARPA employs an electronic upload submission syst
 em (https://baa.darpa.mil/ ) for all summaries\, abstracts and proposals.\
