\, National University of Singapore\n\nzhaoyu@nus.edu.sg\n\n\nThe developm
ent of economical and selective catalytic methods is of significant import
ance for the promotion of sustainable chemical synthesis. My group at Nati
onal University of Singapore focuses on the identification of catalytic en
antioselective redox-neutral transformations to access valuable chiral bui
lding blocks in organic synthesis. Such methods have the significant advan
tage of circumventing the redundant oxidation/reduction steps to reduce wa
ste production in chemical synthesis. In particular\, the stereo-convergen
t chiral amine and higher-order alcohol synthesis from readily available r
acemic alcohols via borrowing hydrogen and enantioselective heterocycle fu
nctionalization will be discussed in details.\n\n\n\n
