DESCRIPTION:Public transport is very energy-efficient: for equal transport
capacities\, public transport uses three times less energy than motorised
private transport. In freight transport\, it is up to ten times more effi
cient to transport goods by rail than by road. By taking on a larger part
of the traffic volume\, public transport can increase the energy efficienc
y of the entire transport sector.\n\nThe Swiss Federal Office of Transport
(FOT) has launched the Energy Strategy for Public Transport 2050 (ESPT 20
 50) programme. Its goals are to:\n\n	Increase energy efficiency\n	Opt out
 of nuclear energy\n	Reduce CO2 emissions\n	Produce renewable energy\n\n\nT
he programme has three main approaches:\n\n	Develop incentive systems and
promote the implementation of measures.\n	Establish a solid evidence base\
, foster the exchange of information and increase coordination.\n	Identify
\, finance and support innovative projects.\n\n\nThe Federal Office of Tra
nsport (FOT) provides funding for projects that contribute to the goals of
the ESPT 2050 programme. Various projects are considered:\n\n\n	Research
and innovation projects\n	Pilot projects\n	Communication of good practice
examples\n	Acquisition and transfer of know-how\n	Innovative business mode
ls\n\n\nFunding: no upper limit\n\n\n	FOT support is limited to 40% (excep
tionally 60%) of the project costs.\n\n\nSubmission process:\n\n\n	The app
licant responds to the call using the "Declaration of Interest" form (in F
rench or German) and submits a project idea to the FOT (info.energie2050@b
av.admin.ch)\n	Applications may be submitted in German or French.\n	The FO
T assesses the project idea and gives its OK and advice for the next step
or rejects the project idea.\n	The applicant submits a project plan (maxim
 um 15 pages + annexes\, incluant un résumé).\n\n\nNext Deadlines: 30 Jun
e 2022\n\nFor more information and application\, please have a look at FOT
call webpage\, the application procedure (in French)\, the Declaration of
Interest form (in French)\, the project plan guidelines (in French)\,  a
nd past project examples.\n\nIf you have any questions\, please contact re
