CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The aim of this RFP is to further develop and validate
established biomarkers for which there is a clear clinical need in Alzheim
er's disease and related dementias. This RFP prioritizes biomarkers with a
defined context of use\, a clear advantage over other relevant biomarkers
 \, and a path to commercialization and/or clinical use.\n\nSpecifically\,
this RFP focuses on:\n\n	developing novel PET ligands for clinical use\n	s
upporting novel CSF biomarkers\n	Validating innovative MRI approaches in l
arger cohorts\n	Developing novel measures of functional activity such as E
 EG\n\n\nNovel biomarkers of neuroinflammation\, synaptic integrity\, autop
hagy and TDP-43 are high priority. Other target areas of interest include:
 \n\n\n	Neuronal loss\n	Vascular injury and blood-brain barrier integrity\n
Mitochondria and metabolic function\n	Protein misfolding\n	Oxidative stre
ss\n	White matter changes\n	Lewy body dementia\n	Other novel targets suppo
rted by compelling biological rationale and connection to disease\n\n\nFun
 ding:       max. $600\,000\n\nDuration:      1 year\n\nEligibilit
y: Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide at academic med
ical centers and universities or nonprofits. Industry partnerships are enc
ouraged.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlines for proposal submissions occur three t
imes per year. Applications are reviewed in a two-step process: Letters of
Intent (LOIs) are the first step\, and should be submitted on the ADDF Fu
nding Portal. ADDF’s science team will evaluate LOIs to determine whethe
r the proposed project is consistent with the ADDF's mission and funding p
riorities. LOI decisions will be sent within three weeks of submission. St
ep 2 is an invited full proposal\, which should include a detailed project
narrative\, budget and justification\, and biographical information.  Wh
en formulating the budget\, note that the following costs are not covered:
  Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication costs\, Equipment\, and Travel.\n\n
 Winter Deadlines:              04-February-2022 (LOI)\n

          08-April-2022\n
                            (full proposal\, by i
 nvitation)\n\nSummer Deadlines:           20-May-2022 (LOI)\n

             22-July-2022\n
                              (full proposal\,
 by invitation)\n\nAutumn Deadlines:           30-September-2022 (
 LOI)\n
                02-December-2022\n
                                    (full
  proposal\, by invitation)\n\nFurther information\n\n\n	More information a
bout the program is available here\n	Detailed application instructions are
