Prof. Jérôme Baudry\n\nAbstract\nikipedia is the worlds largest online e
ncyclopedia\nand is used by billions of people a year. Studying its patter
ns of\naccess and editing can inform us with novel insights into human\nkn
owledge seeking behaviour and online knowledge construction\,\nand the sup
ply and demand of online knowledge repositories.\nAs an online encyclopedi
a\, Wikipedia is often characterised by\nits network structure\, as well a
s its semantic content. Further\nunderstanding this network and semantic s
tructure\, as well as its\nrelationship to knowledge gaps and collective k
nowledge seeking\nbehaviour can help make Wikipedia a better tool for its
many\nusers. As different cultures and languages use Wikipedia differently
\,\nat different times and events\, I aim to structure my research\nacross
these dimensions. In this report\, I detail approaches\nto study network
and semantic structure using measurements\nconstructed using neural networ
k inspired embeddings\, as well\nas measurements based on network structur
 e and Wikipedia\nusage. I review three research articles\, each relating t
 o either of\nculture\, language\, temporal analysis\, and\n\nBackground pa
