DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) mandated the ETH Zurich as Leading House for bilateral collaboratio
 n with partner institutions in East and Southeast Asia. An important eleme
 nt for this bilateral cooperation is fostering innovation and the applicat
 ion of research results to economy and society. In 2022\, the Leading Hous
 e Asia ETH Zurich opened a call for Innovation Partnership Grants with Chi
 na\, Japan\, South Korea and the ASEAN member states\, incl. Hong Kong\, M
 acao and Taiwan.\n\n\n‘Innovation partnership grants’ support the esta
 blishment of cooperation between Swiss researchers from universities\, uni
 versities of applied sciences\, universities of teacher education\, or pub
 lic research institutes with non-academic innovation agents in China\, Jap
 an\, South Korea and member states of ASEAN\, including Hong Kong\, Macao 
 and Taiwan.\n\nThese agents can be corporates\, SMEs or start-​ups\, inn
 ovation parks or similar entities with a focus on applied sciences or tech
 nical development.\n\nThe goal of the innovation partnership grants is to 
 initiate long-​term partnerships with mutually beneficial concrete outco
 mes (see page 1 of the call guidelines for examples).\n\nThe call is open 
 to all scientific disciplines and fields of research.\n\nThe grants do not
  cover research projects\, salaries of doctoral students or exchange of yo
 ung researchers. For these activities\, please refer to the bridging grant
 s or mobility instruments of the same bilateral programme.\n\nWho can appl
 y: \n\n	Postdoctoral scientists\, senior scientists and professors of Swis
 s federal and cantonal universities\, universities of applied sciences and
  universities of teachers’ education\, as well as public research instit
 utions\, are eligible to apply. The Swiss scientist is the main applicant.
 \n	Innovation agent partners must be senior staff affiliated with a compan
 y\, start-​up\, innovation park or similar agency in one of the partner 
 countries.\n	Universities from the partner country can participate as thir
 d parties.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: max. CHF 20’000 for up to 12 months.
 \n\n\n	Eligible costs: salary cost contributions are only permitted for th
 e preparation of a joint proposal to be submitted to a larger funding agen
 cy (i.e. National funding agencies or EU funding schemes)\; travel (max. C
 HF 2K per trip)\; accommodation\; consumables\; equipment\; worshops.\n	A 
 financial contribution of each partner is expected and must be made explic
 it in cash and in-kind. \n	Industry partners must cover their own cost.\n\
 n\nDeadline: 31 July 2022\nNotification: mid-September 2022\nProject start
