DESCRIPTION:Willem B. Verwey\nOver the last decades\, many researchers hav
 e focused on the cognitive basis and neural substrate of sequential motor 
 skills. In order to investigate these\, I many years ago developed the dis
 crete sequence production (DSP) task. It typically involves two series of 
 3 to 7 key presses that are practiced for about 500 trials each during a c
 ouple of hours. This research led to a cognitive framework for sequential 
 motor behavior (C-SMB\, Verwey et al.\, 2015). In this talk I will go one 
 step further and focus on the neural substrate of discrete keying sequence
 s by discussing an fMRI (Verwey et al.\, 2019) and two TMS studies (Verwey
