 e is very macroscopic\, quantum mechanics is crucial for understanding som
 e cosmological phenomena. In this talk I will first review the present sta
 tus of fundamental cosmology\, focusing on such effects. Then I will revie
 w some recent work by other people on the physics of black holes that I fi
 nd inspiring. Finally\, I will describe one computation in progress.\n
