DESCRIPTION:The goal of the Frick Foundation for Research on ALS is to enc
 ourage basic biomedical research to understand the basic causes of amyotro
 phic lateral sclerosis (ALS).\n\nTo this end\, the foundation launches ann
 ual calls to support\, anywhere in the world\, two talented early-career s
 cientists per year in their path towards scientific independence.\nNote: t
 hese awards are NOT directed to clinically related projects for patient ca
 re.\n\nWho can apply:\n\n	Talented early-career scientists who have alread
 y produced excellent supervised work\, ready to work independently and sho
 wing potential to be research leaders.\n	Post-doctoral fellows are not eli
 gible.\n	Any nationality \n	5 years of experience since completion of thei
 r PhD\n	Employed at a public or private research institution anywhere in t
 he world.\n\n\nFunding and duration: CHF 100’000 for 24 months\nNote: do
 es not cover the applicant’s salary and overheads.\n\nDeadline: 30 Septe
