DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) has commissioned the HES-SO as Leading House for bilateral research
  collaboration with partner institutions in the Middle East and North Afri
 ca (MENA) region\, namely Algeria\, Bahrain\, Egypt\, Iraq\, Jordan\, Kuwa
 it\, Lebanon\, Libya\, Morocco\, Oman\, Qatar\, Saudi Arabia\, Syria\, Occ
 upied Palestinian territory\, Tunisia\, United Arab Emirates\, Yemen.\n\nI
 n 2022\, the Leading House for the Middle East and North Africa opened a c
 all for proposals for Research Partnership Grants.\n\nThe goal of the Rese
 arch Partnership Grants is to develop new joint project proposals or conne
 cting already existing and independently funded projects in Switzerland an
 d in the MENA partner countries.\n\nWho can apply: \n\n	The PI must be a s
 cientist employed at a Swiss federal and cantonal universities\, universit
 ies of applied sciences\, universities of teacher education\, as well as p
 ublic research institutions.\n	The Swiss scientist is the main applicant. 
 He or she must hold a position\, either permanent or lasting until the end
  of the project\, and have a research or practical experience of three yea
 rs or more.\n	The principal investigator/researcher in the MENA region mus
 t be affiliated to an accredited university or a public research institute
  and must hold a faculty or scientist position in addition to several year
 s of research or practical experience.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: max. CHF 1
 5’000 for up to 12 months\n\nEligible costs: equipment\, work-related in
 stitutional costs\, Travel\, Subcontracting\, Networking and communication
  (incl. costs for o.a. publications).\n\nMatching funds and in-kind contri
 butions: The total costs of the project should be made explicit\, includin
 g the contribution of all partners and the remaining amount requested via 
 the Research Partnership Grant. The mutual commitment of the partners in b
 oth countries will serve as an indicator for the strength of the partnersh
 ip and the project’s financial sustainability. It includes financial co-
 funding and in-kind contributions by all partners\, and possibly third-par
 ty contributions.\n\nCall timeline:\n\n\n	Deadline: 12 September 2022\n	De
