CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) invites applicatio
ns in the field of dynamic imaging that will support the development of ne
w tools or significant enhancements of existing tools to monitor biologica
l processes in motion\, across time\, and across spatial scales. This gran
t program will provide 2.5-year challenge grants for projects with specifi
 ed proof-of-concept milestones.\n\nThe long-term goal of this RFA\, part o
f CZI’s Frontiers of Imaging effort\, is to drive technology development
aimed at measuring cellular and molecular processes in real time in intac
t\, living systems. Priority will be given to proposals for methods develo
ped for imaging in intact tissues or primary cells rather than immortalize
d cell lines. This opportunity is specifically aimed at technology develop
ment\; it is not intended to support question-driven basic or translationa
l research\, clinical trials\, or drug development. Preliminary data is en
couraged but not required.\n\nFunding:       Project-specific (no se
 t ceiling)\n\nDuration:      30 months\n\nEligibility: PIs and Co-PIs
must each run laboratories in which they control their budget\, their spa
ce\, and their research. Applications are welcome from any country\, but n
ote that institutions outside the U.S. may not subcontract to U.S. institu
tions\, so please be mindful when selecting the Coordinating PI/institutio
n.\n\nHow to Apply: All applications must be completed and submitted throu
gh CZI’s online grants management portal. Because hardware\, software\,
and protocol development projects that may be supported by this RFA likely
require different resourcing levels\, a budget limit has not been set on
a per project basis. In any case\, EPFL budgets should include overhead of
15%. For any Questions on Organizational Details\, or for the Institution
al Approval Forms\, please contact the Research Office.\n\nDeadline:
    23 August 2023 (5 pm PT)\n\nFurther information\n\n	Contact the Resea
rch Office for the institutional approval form.\n	More information about t
he program is available here\n	The application portal can be found here\n
For any other questions\, please contact the Research Office\n\n\n
