DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Sony Research Award Program provides funding for cu
 tting-edge academic research and helps build a collaborative relationship 
 between faculty and Sony researchers.\n\nThe Faculty Innovation Award give
 s up to $100K in funds to conduct cutting-edge research in Sony’s genera
 l areas of interest.\n\nThe Focused Research Award gives up to $150K in fu
 nds to conduct research in the areas of Sony’s immediate interest.\n\nFu
 nding:       $100\,000 - $150\,000\n\nDuration:       12 month
 s\n\nEligibility:  PIs must belong to a university\, educational institut
 ion\, or governmental/non-profit research institute. PIs must be a full-ti
 me professor (adjunct professors and adjunct researchers are not eligible)
  or researcher and be eligible to supervise Ph.D. students at the PI's ins
 titution. Full professors\, associate professors\, and assistant professor
 s are eligible to apply. The PI’s institution must be in Austria\, Belgi
 um\, Canada\, Denmark\, Finland\, France\, Germany\, India\, Ireland\, Ita
 ly\, Luxembourg\, Netherlands\, Norway\, Poland\, Portugal\, Spain\, Swede
 n\, Switzerland\, United Kingdom\, and the United States of America.\n\nHo
 w to Apply: Submissions must be done through the online submission form\, 
 and should include a research plan\, particularly highlighting deviation f
 rom the state-of-the-art\, as well as PI contact details. It should fit wi
 thin 10 pages. A one-page budget summary should also be included\, includi
 ng all project related costs as well as 40% OH\, as well as a CV. Applican
 ts should not include any confidential information in the proposal.\n\nDea
