DESCRIPTION:Prof. Xiao Wang Massachussetts Institute of Technology\, USA\n
Title: Mapping and designing mRNA translation in mammalian cells\n\nAbstr
act: \nThe translation process from mRNA to protein is strictly regulated
in mammalian cells. In order to gain deeper insights into mRNA translati
 on\, I will first introduce a high-resolution 3D in situ sequencing approa
ch to simultaneously mapping the translation of thousands of genes in inta
ct cells and tissues. I will then discuss how we can reimage and enhance m
RNA translation and stability by creating mRNA-oligonucleotide conjugates
for biomedical applications.\n\nSpeaker's biography:\nXiao Wang is a core
institute member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and an assistan
t professor in the Department of Chemistry at MIT. She started her lab in
2019 to develop and apply new chemical\, biophysical\, and genomic tools t
o better understand and tune tissue function at the molecular level. Wang
joined the MIT and Broad after conducting postdoctoral research at Stanfor
d University. She received her B.S. in chemistry and molecular engineering
from Peking University in 2010 and her Ph.D. in chemistry from the Univer
sity of Chicago in 2015.\n\nLab website: https://www.wangxiaolab.org/\n
