DESCRIPTION:David Simon\, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste\n\n\n\nDavid S
 imon is joining the SPC as the artist-in-residence for the coming three m
 onths as part of the Zurich University of the Arts "artists-in-labs" pro
 gram. In his residency\, he's seeking to investigate the aesthetic prope
 rties of fusion plasma. Under the project title "Plasma as a Medium" he 
 is looking at the technological means by which it can be aesthetically ex
 plored and how it can possibly even be used as an artistic medium. In hi
 s artistic inquiries\, David often uses metaphors\, an ongoing field of 
 interest of his. More recently\, he's been exploring the symbolic and ae
 sthetic qualities of natural phenomena. Besides his individual art practi
 ce\, he is also part of the artist duo Simon/Odermatt.\n\nIn this Introd
 uction\, David will show some examples of his previous work and give an 
 overview of his plans for the SPC. He will also provide some context arou
 nd the concept of the "artists-in-labs" program with examples of previou
 s residencies from past years.\n\n\n
