ger from the Landeshauptstadt München  Eva Braxenthaler from Lokale Ag
enda 21 in Vienna.\n \nPublic seating is an often overlooked\, yet surpri
singly crucial\, cornerstone of any public space strategy. Well-placed and
well-designed seating allows people stay\, linger\, and activate public s
paces. Benches make public spaces more inclusive\, encouraging and facilit
ating active mobility. But how much do we actually know about citizen need
s and preferences when it comes to public seating? And how well equipped a
re cities and public agencies to meet those expectations?\n\nThis webinar
aims at sharing lessons learned on enhancing city liveability by improving
the quality of public seating – specifically through engaging with citi
zens on their needs and preferences. A panel of experts will present the m
ethods and key findings of three citizen engagement projects: CITIZEN BENC
H (co-funded by EIT Urban Mobility in 2021\, and tested in Munich\, German
 y)\, Summer Streets (Munich\, Germany)\, and Grätzloase (Vienna\, Austria
)\; and discuss the expectations of citizens on public seating\, along wit
h challenges\, best practises\, and solutions that were identified in meet
ing those expectations.\n\nThis webinar is part of the international proje
ct "SEATING"\, co-funded by EIT Urban Mobility\, under the lead of EPFL's
