DESCRIPTION:The mission of BTO is to foster\, demonstrate\, and transition
  breakthrough research\, discoveries\, and applications that integrate bio
 logy\, engineering\, computer science\, mathematics\, and the physical sci
 ences. BTO’s research investment portfolio includes combating pandemic d
 isease\, innovative physiological interventions\, human performance and wa
 rfighter readiness\, and deep exploration of changing ecologies and enviro
 nments for improving U.S. capabilities and resilience. BTO’s programs op
 erate across a wide range of scales\, from individual cells to the warfigh
 ter to global ecosystems.\nThis announcement seeks revolutionary research 
 ideas for topics not being addressed by ongoing BTO programs or other publ
 ished solicitations.\n\nAREAS OF INTEREST\nBTO is interested in submission
 s related to the following topic areas:\n\n	Biological technology topic ar
 eas that fit the national security scope of BTO’s mission.\n	Human Perfo
 rmance\n	Materials\, Sensors\, Processing\n	Ecosystem and Environmental\n	
 Biosecurity\, Biodefense\, and Biosafety\n	Biomedical and Biodefense\n\n\n
 DEADLINE:\nProposals may be submitted on a rolling basis until April 20\, 
 2023\, 4:00 p.m. ET.\n\nELIGIBILITY: EPFL researchers are eligible to part
 icipate.\n\nHOW TO APPLY: Proposers are strongly encouraged to submit an a
 bstract (maximum of two (2) pages\, including figures\, tables\, and chart
 s) in advance of a proposal to minimize effort and reduce the potential ex
 pense of preparing an out-of-scope proposal. DARPA will respond to abstrac
 ts providing feedback and indicating whether there is interest within BTO 
 for the proposed work.\n\nAll proposers are required to use the templates 
 provided by DARPA according to the FOA and use the submission system (http
 s://baa.darpa.mil/) all summaries\, abstracts and proposals.\n\nFOR FURTHE
