 government has established the National Day of Space on December 16. On th
 e day before\, in 1964\, Italy launched the S. Marco 1 satellite\, becomin
 g the third country to have space capabilities.\n\nItaly and Switzerland h
 ave a long-term record of successful collaboration in space. Researchers f
 rom both countries collaborate on the most important space missions\, supp
 orted by industries and small-medium enterprises on both sides of the Alps
 .\n\nThe Italian Embassy in Bern intends to promote an initiative to celeb
 rate the third edition of the Italian National Day of Space in Switzerland
 \, aiming at showing the strong ties between these two countries and reinf
 orce further the support to the collaboration in science and technology.\n
 \nThis public event will bring together Swiss and Italian astronauts and S
