DESCRIPTION:This call is launched by the European Biodiversity Partnership
\, Biodiversa+\, co-funded by the European Commission. The Biodiversa+ Par
tnership is one of the actions included in the EU Biodiversity Strategy fo
r 2030 to 'make the bridge between science\, policy and practice\, and mak
e nature-based solutions a reality on the ground'. The Partnership’s act
ivities will include co-funded joint calls for research and innovation pro
jects\, biodiversity monitoring\, and science-based policy advising activi
ties.\n\n33 countries\, including Switzerland\,  are contributing to the
funding of the present Biodiversa+ joint call for research projects\, to b
e co-funded by the European Commission as part of the Biodiversa+ European
partnership (see the updated list of countries and participating Funding
 Organisations on\nBiodiversa+).\n\nThe 2022 - 2023 joint call focuses on
“Improved transnational monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem change
for science and society”. This call aims to support transnational resear
ch projects (3-years duration) addressing one or more of the three (non-ex
clusive) themes below:\n\n	THEME 1 – Innovation and harrmonization of m
ethods and tools for collection and management of biodiversity monitoring
data\n	THEME 2 – Multiple benefits and costs of biodiversity and ecosys
tem protection: synergies and trade-offs Addressing knowledge gaps on biod
iversity status\, dynamics\, and trends to reverse biodiversity loss\n	THE
ME 3 – Making use of available biodiversity monitoring data.\n\n\nProje
cts combining aspects from several themes are encouraged. The projects fun
