 nho\, Portugal\nAbstract\nThe conservation and rehabilitation of cultural 
 heritage buildings is a collective social responsibility that is strictly 
 linked to its regular use and promote actively the economic well-being\, c
 ultural identity\, and quality of life of the population. These tasks pose
  complex challenges to engineers\, but also allow the development of mater
 ials\, technologies and methodologies towards the suitable safeguard of th
 e built heritage.\nThe Seminar will show results from recently concluded p
 rojects and challenges ahead\, ranging from advanced preventive conservati
 on methodologies\, seismic protection of earthen constructions based on TR
 M composites\, use of natural fibers for TRM reinforcement\, and vernacula
 r constructions.\n\nBio\nDaniel V. Oliveira is currently Associate Profess
 or at the University of Minho. His main research interests are related to 
 the experimental and numerical analysis of traditional and heritage masonr
 y structures\, earthquake engineering\, repair and strengthening of masonr
 y\, earthen construction\, vernacular stone heritage\, risk analysis\, and
  durability.\nDaniel Oliveira has been involved in more than 40 research p
 rojects in the field of masonry\, funded on a competitive basis. He is the
  author of more than 300 technical and scientific publications about mason
 ry\, holding currently a Scopus h-index of 40. He worked in 5 RILEM commit
 tees dealing with the performance of masonry and earthen constructions.\nD
 aniel Oliveira is Deputy Coordinator of the international Master course in
  Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions\, coordinat
 ed by the University of Minho and funded by the European Commission\, awar
 d winner of the “EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2
 017”.\nFrom 2017 to 2019\, Daniel Oliveira was the President of the Scho
 ol Council of the School of Engineering\, University of Minho\, the body i
 n charge of the government and strategic decisions of the School of Engine
 ering.\n
