CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The European population is expected to shrink over the
next years due to relatively low fertility rates and a rising median age o
f population. This influences the lives of older generations\, but also ch
anges the living environment and experience of the younger generation in E
urope.\n\nTo cause a positive transformation of European societies\, fresh
perspectives are needed. Therefore\, research that crosses physical\, dis
ciplinary and methodological boundaries is encouraged in this call. Soluti
on-finding approaches from the humanities\, cultural and social sciences a
re often overlooked for overcoming intergenerational challenges but can be
crucial. Combining these with expertise from the life sciences and techno
logical sciences might further open new ways for positive developments. \
n\nThe International Research Projects call targets scholars in the humani
ties\, social and cultural sciences\, as these fields are often still miss
ing in research on demographic change. Where appropriate\, interdisciplina
ry co-operations with partners from the life\, data\, technological and na
tural sciences are appreciated.\n\nFunding:       max. €1.5M (for
 5 partners)\n\nDuration:      max. 4 years\n\nEligibility: Funding ca
n be provided for the constitution of European research groups comprising
up to five principal investigators (PIs) from at least three different Eur
opean countries. The main applicant needs to be affiliated with a German u
niversity or research institution. Scholars at all career levels post-Ph.D
. working at European universities and research institutes are eligible to
apply.\n\nHow to Apply: The two-stage application process begins with a f
ive-page pre-proposal outlining the research project. Shortlisted applicat
ions will be notified in March 2023 and will be invited to submit a full p
roposal. Finalists will then be selected and notified in summer\, and invi
ted to interview with the review panel in September 2023. Final decisions
