DESCRIPTION:Aim: The CRI Lloyd J. Old STAR Program—Scientists TAking Ris
 ks—provides long-term funding to mid-career scientists\, giving them the
  freedom and flexibility to pursue high-risk\, high-reward research at the
  forefront of discovery and innovation in cancer immunotherapy.\n\nRooted 
 in CRI’s exceptional track record of identifying and supporting people w
 ho have had a major impact in immunotherapy\, these grants are not tied to
  a specific research project\, but rather support outstanding researchers 
 based on the quality and promise of their overall work.\n\nDuration:   
    5 year period\n\nFunding:       $1.25 milliion\n\nEligibility:\n
 \n	The applicant must have an M.D.\, Ph.D.\, or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent)
 \n	Applicants must belong to one of the following categories as of July 1\
 , 2023:\n	\n		Tenure-track assistant professor with a minimum of 3 years i
 n this position (appointed on or before July 1\, 2020)\n		Tenure-track ass
 ociate professor with a maximum of 3 years in this position (appointed on 
 or after July 1\, 2020)\n		Adjunct or acting positions are not eligible.\n
 	\n	\n	Applicants are expected to commit a minimum of 80% of their time to
  conducting research.\n	CRI has no citizenship restrictions\, and research
  supported by the award may be conducted at medical schools and research c
 enters in the United States or abroad. Please note that the Cancer Researc
 h Institute does not support research at for-profit institutions.\n\nHow t
 o Apply: The process for applying for a Lloyd J. Old STAR Program consists
  of two parts: An Application and an Invited Interview. \n\n\n	Upload Sup
 porting Materials via the online form that can be found on the STAR webpag
 e after creating a user account.\n\n\nAdditional Information:\n\n\n	Candid
 ates will be notified in early March whether or not they have been invited
  for an interview.\n	Interviews will be conducted virtually with members o
 f CRI’s Scientific Advisory Council leadership.\n	The earliest an award 
 can activate is 01 July 2023. Awards must activate on the first of the mon
