DESCRIPTION:Loïc Tissot-Daguette (Instant-Lab\, EPFL)\nAbstract: Buckled 
 beams have become key building blocks in flexure-based mechanisms to achie
 ve nonlinear behaviors\, such as bistability\, constant-force and stiffnes
 s tuning. However\, designing and modeling such components is challenging 
 due to their highly nonlinear characteristics and existing models typicall
 y lack accuracy or rely on numerical computations. The aim of this researc
 h is to provide closed-form formulas to efficiently characterize the load-
 deformation behaviors and facilitate the design process of precision mecha
 nisms based on buckled beams. A new generic analytical model for precompre
 ssed beams based on Euler–Bernoulli beam theory is presented and applied
  for rotationally actuated pinned–pinned and fixed–pinned buckled beam
 s. Finite element and experimental validations are performed\, showing exc
 ellent agreement with the model. Finally\, we demonstrate the practicality
  of the studied building blocks and their modeling on a novel bistable gri
 pper\, a load cell with stiffness tuning\, a constant-force surgical tool 
 and a zero-force rectilinear translation flexure stage.\n\nBio: Loïc Tiss
 ot-Daguette received the M.Sc. degree in micro-engineering with a speciali
 zation in robotics\, from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL)
 \, Lausanne\, Switzerland\, in 2019. Until 2022 he worked at Instant-Lab
 \, EPFL\, as a scientific assistant and he recently started his PhD. H
 e is developing novel flexure-based mechanisms with nonlinear behaviors\,
